Tradovate API Request Limit

Tradovate has an API Limit. On a 60-minute timeframe, users can only initiate up to 5000 unique actions. Placing, modifying, and canceling orders are each separate actions.

  • The maximum number of contracts per order is 100. If you trade in groups, the total number of contracts across all accounts cannot exceed 100 for the order.
  • When trading with groups, every trade on each account is seen as a separate action. Placing an order on 20 accounts will be counted as 20 distinct actions. Once you’ve reached this limit, no actions can be taken.

  • If you reach this limit, positions will not be automatically flattened by Tradovate or Apex, as managing positions remains the trader’s responsibility. However, Tradovate Support can assist with resetting the API limit so you can manage your positions. To request a reset, please contact [email protected] with the subject line β€œApex Account – Request Limit Reset,” and include your Tradovate username. You can also reach them via phone or chat at https://www.tradovate.com/support/.
  • Please Note: Neither Tradovate nor Apex can flatten your accounts automatically. Position management remains the responsibility of each trader.

  • A limit of five accounts is visible on the mobile platform.

DISCLAIMER NOTE: This is a Tradovate rule and cannot be controlled by Apex Trader Funding. Violating this limit and losing your account will NOT result in a free reset or balance change, or account restoration.
