1099 Forms and Tax Information

Who Receives a Year End Tax Form

U.S. taxpayers who received PA payouts or referral fees from Apex during the prior tax year will receive a Form 1099-NEC. Forms are usually issued towards the end of January each tax season for the prior year, and timing can vary by year.

Foreign or Overseas Members

Members who indicated they are not U.S. taxpayers (W-8 status) do not receive a U.S. 1099. They are responsible for reporting Apex income under the laws of their country or jurisdiction.

How to Access Your 1099

A notification of year-end form availability is emailed directly from our third-party firm, TaxBandits, along with instructions on how to access the forms in their portal.

To find the email, search for messages from [email protected] and be sure to also check spam and trash folders. Additionally, you can also search for the keyword “taxbandits.com”

If you cannot locate the email, you can also use the TaxBandits Online Access Portal to retrieve your form:

https://onlineaccess.taxbandits.com

When accessing directly through their portal, please be sure to use the correct associated account email and last four digits of your TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) as used on your Apex user account.

Do I Need the Physical 1099 Form to File?

You do not need a physical 1099 to file your taxes. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for reporting all income earned. The IRS receives a copy of the 1099 from the issuer.

Where to Verify Your Income

PA payouts: Log in to your Apex account and open the “Request Payout” tab to view amounts paid in the prior tax year. Affiliate Referral fees: In your Apex dashboard, open “Affiliate Info” and select “Payouts” to view referral fee payouts for the prior tax year. Bank statements: Review deposits made by Apex.

Note: Contest winnings or special bonus payments may not appear in the Request Payout or Affiliate Info tabs. Include these amounts if applicable.

Amended Forms

If corrections are needed, a corrected or amended 1099 may be issued. Always use the most recent version available to you or in the TaxBandits portal.

Troubleshooting

Apex does not create, store, or send 1099 forms. TaxBandits issues them and provides access through their portal. Apex Support cannot resend, reissue, print, or directly provide your 1099. Before contacting Support, please be sure you have tried all of the following:

  • Confirm your Apex profile has the correct email address and an accurate SSN or Tax ID.
  • Search your email for “taxbandits.com,” and check spam and trash folders.
  • Retrieve your form directly from the TaxBandits Online Access Portal: https://onlineaccess.taxbandits.com/
  • If your Tax ID was incomplete or incorrect, respond to any TaxBandits request to update it. Access is provided after they can validate your information.
  • You can file using your own records even if you have not located the form. Verify totals in your Apex dashboards and bank statements:
    • PA payouts: “Request Payout” tab
    • Referral fees: “Affiliate Info” tab, “Payouts” subsection
    • Bank statements: Deposits from Apex

If you have completed the steps above and still need help, contact Support with a brief summary of what you tried and any error messages you saw. We will review your profile details and guide you on the next best steps.
