Position Sizing – Evaluation

Position sizing at a Glance:

  • Evaluation accounts have a fixed maximum position size
  • Maximum position size is available immediately

The maximum position size in an evaluation is determined by the contract limit of your chosen plan. This limit applies across all instruments and all open positions combined.

Contract limits are identical for both EOD and Intraday Trailing evaluations.

Evaluation Account Sizes 25K 50K 100K 150K
Max Contracts 4 6 8 12

Example:

In a $50,000 evaluation, the maximum position size is:

  • 6 standard contracts, or
  • 60 micro contracts, or
  • Any combination, as long as total exposure does not exceed the maximum contract size:
    • 2 ES contracts and 4 NQ contracts, or
    • 50 MES and 10 MNQ, or
    • 20 MES and 4 NQ

If an order exceeds your maximum allowable exposure, it will be automatically rejected and it will not count as a rule violation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I lose my account if I exceed the maximum position size by mistake?

No, if you attempt to place an order that exceeds your maximum allowed position size, the order is automatically rejected. The trade will not be executed, and your account remains unaffected.

Can I split my position across different instruments to exceed the limit?

No, the position size limit applies to all open positions combined across all instruments. You may distribute contracts across different markets, but the total exposure must remain within your maximum contract limit.

Are micro contracts counted differently than standard contracts?

Yes, ten (10) micro contracts equal one (1) standard contract. All exposure is calculated using this contract equivalency.

Does my position size change during the evaluation?

No, your maximum position size remains fixed throughout the entire evaluation. It does not change based on your account balance or trading performance.
